D213 Storms Bamfurlong - 01st July 2023
47828 & 47614 had take the train north in the morning with 828 failing. So D213 was sent from Crewe this evening to take on the train from Carnforth to Leicester. Black Five 45231 The Sherwood Forester had worked the steam legs from Preston to Carlisle and then south down the Cumbrian coast line.

A Class 40 diesel locomotive, D213 (40013), is seen heading south along the West Coast Main Line through Bamfurlong on 1st July 2023. The locomotive was deployed to take over a train from Carnforth to Leicester following earlier operational changes. Other locomotives involved in the service included 47828 and 47614, with steam-hauled sections operated by Black Five 45231. The train was part of The Lakelander service operated by Saphos Trains, running between Carlisle and Leicester. The footage captures the locomotive in action during its evening deployment from Crewe.
