Class 60 Unloaded Vs Loaded Freight Train Comparison - 14th October 2024
GBRF 60021 "Penyghent" is first to appear starting to accelerate away from Ince Moss Junction on the Ashton to Tuebrook aggregates train which was heading back empty ready to return later with the 2nd load.
DC Rail 60029 "Ben Nevis" is next which was working the loaded sand train from Humberstone Road near Leicester to Ravenhead Sidings aka the Pilkington Glass Factory at St Helens.
2 very different liveries and trains applying the power uphill slightly here sounds very impressive. The sand train usually runs on a Saturday from Middleton Towers. I was stood on my foldable step here which is certainly required for easier filming abilities.
