A Class 802 Hitachi unit, numbered 802203, is seen passing through Springs Branch south of Wigan on the west coast main line. The train was operating a service from Manchester Airport to Edinburgh Waverley under the Transpennine operator. Due to engineering works between Bolton and Manchester, the route was altered to pass via Wigan. The unit was running late by five minutes according to the schedule.
