The class 66 was working the usual weekday engineers train from Carlisle to Crewe which runs via Settle, Clitheroe and Blackburn. The train had run into Wigan over an hour early but was booked to sit in platform 1 at Wigan North Western and did so for about an hour before moving past me 6 early along the goods line keeping away from the Blackpool to Liverpool express you can see in the background.
