45562 Alberta at Bamfurlong With The Buxton Spa Express - 29th October 2023
The steam locomotive was working the opening leg of "The Buxton Spa Express" railtour from Preston to Buxton via Manchester Victoria and Stockport.
The train had just picked up passengers and would soon take the junction at Golborne to cross onto the Chat Moss line to head towards Manchester. Running and a lovely speed with West Coast Railways 47802 on the rear.
The steam would work to Buxton were the 47 would take the train from Buxton to Hindlow which is is large fright yard I believe.
Rare treat to see a steam tour on a Sunday. Lovely conditions despite the horrific mud on the path. United Utilities fault.
