Echoes of the Past Old Trains Face Off Against New on the WCML

A very fun hour of trains seen speeding along the west coast main line just north of Springs Branch Depot south of Wigan on the pleasant afternoon of Thursday 26th June 2025.

Four trains of very different calibre and build eras seen here today with classes 47,66,99 on show here. Test trains, railtour empty stock and regular freight traffic passing me here in some very colourful liveries.

47s being the oldest Vs the class 99 which are only testing as we speak is a cool sight.
