43484 & 43468 Drag Ex-Thunderbird 57309 Through Bamfurlong | 13th August 2026
43484 & 43468 are seen leading a drag move heading south along the west coast main line and through Bamfurlong on the evening of Thursday 13th August 2026.
The class 43s were dragging an ex Direct Rail Services class 57 locomotive 57309 from Carlisle to Crewe. Alongside the trio of locomotives four barrier coaches being used as breaking force.
The vehicles are owned by Meridian Generic Rail and they have four, which are ex-Motorail vans originally converted for FGW. Having ran early from Cafnforth as typical of my luck the train would be held at Oxheys loop north of Preston despite not being booked to stop there. Had almost 4 hours od standing time in various locations from Carlisle to Lancaster none south of that well to Wigan as booked.
