Ffestiniog Railway's locomotive Palmerston - 07th May 2017
In today's video, we have something quite different from my archives. We take a look at a narrow gauge steam engine running along with a short piece of track at Royal Albert Dock Liverpool on Sunday 7th May 2017.
This steam engine was one of many lovely attractions for the day.
The event from memory was The Liverpool Steam Fair 2017 which celebrated all kinds of steam-powered vans, tractors amongst others. The eventr was over 6/7 May 2017.
Here are a pair of news articles which will give you a better idea of the day

Some information about the history of Palmerston
Palmerston is a steam locomotive built for the Festiniog Railway in 1863. One of the line's original locomotives, it continued in use (much rebuilt) until the mid-1930s. The locomotive was then converted into a stationary boiler for war work at Boston Lodge.
The new management considered the remains to be beyond restoration. The hulk was sold in 1974 to a private consortium. It later returned to the FR and was restored to service in 1993. It is not one of the line's regular locomotives but can be seen working on special occasions.
The engine is named after Henry John Temple, 3rd Viscount Palmerston (1784-1865), Liberal Prime Minister and Chairman of the Welsh Slate, Copper & Lead Mining Co's quarry at Blaenau Ffestiniog.
