A Class 40 diesel locomotive, D345/40145, and D213/40013, along with Intercity swallow liveried 47828, are seen heading north through Bamfurlong, near Wigan, on the West Coast Main Line. The train was part of a charter service operating the "Double Scotch" route from Crewe to Edinburgh on behalf of the Class Forty Preservation Society and Locomotive Services. The footage captures the locomotives and train as they ran slightly delayed due to a hold just south of Warrington.
