37 on the Dalesman plus a 56 brings rge RHTT Tanks to Carlisle 6 August 2026

Thursday 6th August and the Dalesman comes to Carlisle from Chester. Initially I wasn't going to bother going to the station. However I noted that Colas were sending a class 56 to Thrall at York. Its the time of year when the Rail Head Treatment Tanks come to Carlisle for the coming Autumn. Then a rumour that a class 37 was leading the Dalesman so definitely worth the trip out.
Also two test train laid over in the Holding Sidings, one with a pair of Class 43 power cars, the other with the Swietelsky Class 37 and a DBSO.




We also see some of the Saturday evening passenger trains but otherwise the station is pretty quiet.
