Colas Rail Freight Class 43 powercars 43272 & 43251 are send top and tailing another test train send heading north along the west coast main line and through Springs Branch south of Wigan on the afternoon of Tuesday 25th August 2026.
The class 43s were working the usual test train from Derby to Carlisle which would run via the Cumbrian Coast line. But for a rare change work all the way back to Carnforth and then via Oxenholme to the final destination. I believe tunnel at Workington area is still closed.
