The first of a series of locomotives running on the Great Central Railway. This video consists of the BR Standard 2MT 2-6-0's designed by Riddles but based on an Ivatt LMS design.
These locomotives hold a fascination for me as at the age of 6 I can remember being hauled by one of these diminutive engines (or the LMS design) on a train to Kettering, and then when living at Corby seeing them regularly running through on what we called the 'Gretton Granny'. I was also lucky enough to drive 78019 on the GCR on a driver experience day.
