Trains at Chester - 22/08/2026

Description
A sunny afternoon but windy afternoon of filming at Chester on 22nd August 2026.
The main purpose of coming here was to capture The SRPS Thistle & Dragon Charter on its return journey from Llandudno to Kirkcaldy, with 40013 ‘Andania’ hauling & 50050 ‘Fearless’ tailing on the rear which detached here and headed back to Crewe as a light engine.
Other than the charter is just a few regular passenger services, including my first sighting of one of Merseyrails Class 777 units.
Trains featured:
- Avanti West Coast Class 805 ‘Evero’ units
- Transport for Wales Class 197s
- Northern Class 195s
- Merseyrail Class 777
- LSL 40013 ‘Andania’ & 50050 ‘Fearless’
