D400 Fearless, Galloway Princess plus 90s, 66s, 57s PLUS Evening delays at Carlisle 29 August 2026

Saturday 29th at Carlisle Station. With the steam ban still on. LSL sent their Lakelander charter behind Class 50 D400 Fearless in place of steam with Galloway Princess at the rear. And welcome it was. Meanwhile Northern Belle had a charter passing through to and from Edinburgh.Saturdays are always good for freight with many hauled by Class 90s, but we have 66s, 68s and 88s too.
In the evening things got a bit awry down at Lancaster with a points failure, not noticeable at first until the southbound Northern Belle was held north of the station in Kingmoor Up loop for some trains to pass and to avoid the platforms getting full.
