Runing day at the Llanelli & Mynydd Mawr Railway with first ever Driver for a Fiver Shunter + 143612

Following the recent trip to the Sharpness Docks https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JfDi1rReJ5I&t=1226s @southwalestrainspotting5090 and I spent Saturday over the Bank Holiday taking our first visit to the Llanelli & Mynydd Mawr Railway, where the Vale of Berkeley Railways other ex GWR Pacer 143612 resides, and was in action giving train rides today.

This was also the first opportunity the railway has been able to offer ‘driver for a fiver’ turns utilising the Sentinel Diesel Shunter 'Peter J Griffiths' so there was a comprehensive operation and lots of very interesting rolling stock on display at this railway which is in storage, including a Class 315 and Class 313 unit, former Isle of Wight Island Tube Stock, a HST cab, Class 442 cab, a repurposed Class 153 now forming the railways cafe and more!

Enjoy a ride along the line as we explore the railway before a bonus feature at the end with some shots featuring ex Northern Pacer 142033 which now resides in a Police compound in Bridgend used as a tactical training aid. | 29.08.2026
