Northern Trains Speed Test | Class 195 vs Class 331 at Bamfurlong - 28th August 2026

A fast paced comparison video seeing trains from the Civity family manufactured by CAF, owned by Eversholt Rail Group and currently operated by Northern Trains.

Today's contenders are the almost identical class 195 representing the diesal family Vs the more eco friendly all electric class 331.

Both trains are assn speeding south along the west coast main line at Bamfurlong south of Wigan on the cloudy and damp afternoon of Friday 28th August 2026.

The 195 was up first working the Barrow-in-Furness to Manchester Airport follows a short while later by 331027 on one of the few Wigan North Western to Manchester Victoria diagrams. Both running in clear air on the same peace of track.
