I spent a short while at Rishton Station on the East Lancashire line and at Pleasington Station on the Blackburn to Hellifield line and observed the following train movements while dodging the rain showers on the 2nd of September 2026.

The 2N82 passenger service running from Colne to Preston was operated by Northern class 156 Diesel Multiple Unit number 156460.

The 1Z65 excursion service running from Lancaster to Scarborough was operating by West Coast Railway’s class 37 and class 47 Diesel Locomotives numbers 37669 and 47813.

The 1Z45 excursion service running front Crewe to Carlisle was operated by Locomotive Service’s Class 50 and Class 57 Diesel Locomotives numbers 50050 ‘Fearless’ and 57302.
