Are you here for the steam train? Asked a grand chap called David who back in the 50s apparently changed the points for the Protype Deltic up in Carlisle from Box No.5.

No i said, it’s a Class 50 diesel today. No no, a steam train is coming he protested! He was most disappointed and somewhat confused while standing there in the rain on a partially flood bridge to hear that there was no steam haulage today due to risk of fire..!
