Carlisle Saturday: Last Northern Belle without Steam? 05 September 2026
Player
Description
On Saturday 5th September we were expecting another Northern Belle Settle & Carlisle Special. Not a Steam Special as we'd hoped but Diesel hauled throughout. Network Rail have apparently lowered their Steam Ban / Fire Risk to a Red meaning locos and be heavily assisted and do no work. However today it seems that didn't apply.
We also see the Logs heading from behind Platform 1, the Tesco train and other freight and engine moves behind Class 90s.
