Leamington Spa Station on 26th August 2026 Part 2 of 2
Part 2 of 2
26th August 2026
Upon taking my family to Warwick Castle, I made a call into Leamington Spa Station, to the South of Birmingham. A busy Junction station where the line to Birmingham diverges to the Left and generally most Suburban trains take to go to the city. Either to Moor Street, New Street or Snow Hill. Cross country services tend to take the other route to Coventry then to Birmingham. Most of the Freight takes the more direct route as seen in the Railways around Birmingham Feature I recently uploaded. To the South is the line to Banbury and Oxford, serving London Marylebone and London Paddington, also the South Coast by class 220/221 'Voyagers' on frequent Cross Country services.
Seen in the video are examples of the new futuristic looking Class 196 DMU's.
The majority of Freight is container traffic to and from Southampton bound for various locations North and are hauled by Class 66 Locomotives, much from the Gbrf sector. Some of the Birmingham Moor Street to London Marylebone and V.V services are Push or pulled by Class 68 Locomotives. I do hope you enjoy this 2 part feature covering the hours from 09.48 to when I left overstaying my welcome at 12.15. I do hope you enjoy this feature and feel free to comment. Give the video a like or subscribe to the channel. Your interest is always very much appreciated.
A big thank you to the station staff at Leamington Spa for allowing me access to the platforms for the purpose of making this video.
