It has been a while since I was last able to catch the Network Rail NMT on its occasional runs down the ECML to King’s Cross, so I was very much surprised to see the less often used 43014 loco at the front and Colas Rail Ex-Crosscountry 43031 at the tail!
This is one of the slower NMT movements I have seen and it was great to have time to appreciate the sight and sound of these lovely locomotives, against the backdrop of regular 200kph Class 801s!
