A short time spent at Swinton station in South Yorkshire on 22nd August 2025 produced a nice variety of trains, including something totally unexpected.

00:27 Trans Pennine Express 185132 runs through on the 1B72 Liverpool Lime Street to Cleethorpes.
01:07 The original class 150, 3-car unit 150001 pauses at the station with the 2N13 Sheffield to Leeds.
02:28 Cross Country Voyager unit 220006 draws slowly to an unscheduled stop in the station due to a red signal. The train had to wait for a late running class 158 unit forming the 2N10 Leeds to Sheffield to pass before it could cross over to the Doncaster line.
04:55 Freightliner 66414 brings the 4L73 Tinsley to London Gateway through.
05:49 WOW! A class 37 and two London North Western class 730 units! 37501 'Teesside Steelmaster' drags 730024 and 730214 on the 5Q77 Gascoigne Wood to Bletchley depot.
06:34 Colas 70816 was running as the 0Z58 which involved a few trips up and down through Swinton whilst running from Barnetby and then back to Barnetby.
