31130 in action on its last day at the Dean Forest before returning to Avon Valley + WD152 'Rennes'

A trip to the Dean Forest Railway today to take advantage of the final chance to catch the Class 31 31130, currently visiting from the Avon Valley Railway.
The locomotive was hired in for the railways recent diesel gala and was in action for one last outing working a two coach train today, while War Department (WD) Austerity 0-6-0ST saddle tank WD152 'Rennes' worked the main service train.
It was a nice leisurely few hours riding the trains, getting off at Whitecroft for an hour and continuing the journey with steam and diesel haulage and some late September sunshine! | 20.09.2026
