Description
Welcome to Day 1 of the Severn Valley Railway Autumn Diesel Bash 2026! 🚂💨
In this video, we spend a few hours at Kidderminster on Thursday 1st October for the opening day of the four-day Autumn Diesel Bash.
The gala runs from Thursday 1st – Sunday 4th October, with an intensive diesel timetable operating between Kidderminster and Bridgnorth and a fantastic selection of heritage diesel traction taking to the Severn Valley Railway.
One of the main highlights of our visit is seeing the gala’s special guest, Class 47 No. 47804, appearing courtesy of West Coast Railways. Alongside the 47, we see a variety of locomotives from the SVR’s home fleet arriving, departing and running around at Kidderminster.
🚂 LOCOMOTIVES ADVERTISED FOR THE GALA:
• Class 14 D9551
• Unique Class 17 ‘Clayton’ D8568
• Class 20(s) – hopefully operating as a pair
• Class 33 No. 33108
• Class 42 ‘Warship’ D821 ‘Greyhound’
• Class 46 No. 46045
• Class 50 No. 50033 ‘Glorious’
• Class 52 ‘Westerns’ D1015 & D1062
• Class 108 DMU
• Special Guest – Class 47 No. 47804, courtesy of West Coast Railways
With plenty of diesel action, some great departures and a busy timetable, Day 1 certainly sets the scene for what should be a brilliant four days on the Severn Valley Railway.
Hopefully there’ll be plenty more action to come over the rest of the weekend!
