LMS 8F 48151’s RETURN at Hellifield - 30/9/26

Today we have an absolute icon of the UK mainline scene, the long awaited return of 48151, since its withdrawal in 2019 it returned earlier this year and ran two test runs from Carnforth to Hellifield, with the last one being with Tangmere.

Though this was its first “official” train, a private charter organised by WCR from Carnforth up to Upperby Junction and then down the S&C through Hellifield and back to Carnforth

I first saw 48151 in 2018 though I can barely remember it, this is the first time as a proper “spotter” I’ve seen it, I personally love WCRs fleet as is though seeing an 8F on the head of a train is a much welcomed change!

Aswell as 48151, notably in the video is also DVT 82222 waiting at Leeds and 70803 on a log train.
