Busy Morning at Newport (South Wales) - Friday 19th September, 2025

Today saw another visit back down to Newport (South Wales), where my goal was to catch the Northern Belle charter trip 'The Cornish Lunch', which was running from Cardiff Central to Par with West Coast Class 57s, 57315 & 57313. The pre-tour stock move from Carnforth to Cardiff was also captured during the day.
While waiting for the Northern Belle, I took the time throughout the morning to film some other trains at Newport, including several freight trains, four One Wales Express sets, the electric-powered Class 387 EMU set, and the veteran Class 150 units.
The morning in Newport was surprisingly busy for a Friday, and towards the start of the early afternoon, there was a brief visit to Cwmbran, where West Country 34046 'Braunton' was seen running from Bishops Lydeard (WSR) to Crewe H.S, following the end of the 'Welsh Marches Express' runs for the 2025 season.
