Mega-Loco Haulage Day at Newport (South Wales) - Thursday 13th February, 2025

Two days after the previous video was posted on Tuesday 11th February, I made another return to Newport (South Wales) on Thursday 13th February with the hopes of producing a much better video of the trains filmed there after the previous video's camera footage proved somewhat lacklustre in quality and sound.

This time, I took to filming the trains on my iPhone due to its more better picture quality and improved microphone capabilities. And just as well that I did, too, because Thursday had a whole load of surprises in store for this video.

The main highlights of the day include:

- Colas Rail 37057 on Cardiff Canton Sidings to Cardiff Canton Sidings ultrasonic test train from Bangor C.S, running from Cardiff to Swindon and back, running via Chepstow and Gloucester.

- ROG 37800 on Ely Mlf Papworth Sidings to Newport Docks scrap move, with Ex-Southeastern Class 446s (466009 & 466004) destined for scrapping.

- Freightliner 70005 on Wentloog to Southampton M.C.T freightliner passing DBC 66137 on Round Oak to Margam T.C steel freight.

- DRS 68009 'Titan' on Gloucester to Pengam Sidings driver route learner path, later returning to Rugby.

- DBC 66656 on Robeston Sdgs to Westerleigh Puma Dbc tanker freight.

- GWR 387166 & 387143 on Cardiff Central to London Paddington passenger service, running on electric pantograph power.
