The Bath and Bristol Thumper - Hastings to Bristol Charter - 25/03/23

Yesterday saw us travelling to the West Country by train to capture the Hastings DEMU Thumper unit on a charter special running from Hastings to Bristol Temple Meads.
The day starts off in Bath Spa where we would choose to see the Thumper unit from, and after filming mainly Great Western passenger services with occasional Freightliner Class 66s appearing on freight and convoy moves, the DEMU charter from Hastings to Bristol arrives at Bath, where we used two cameras to film it.
Because our usual 4K camera is currently under the weather, we've had to use both our smaller HD camcorder and iPhones to get the two shots at different angles.
We then head to Bristol Temple Meads, where the Thumper remained sitting in the Motorail platform for over two hours, with Cross Country / Great Western HST sets making appearances in-between the waiting process.
Finally, while the Thumper left Platform 2 to reset ready for the return journey, Unit 159016 from the South Western Railway makes an unexpected appearance heading from St. Philips Mrsh H.S.T.D to Salisbury following tyre-turning at the former.
The Thumper then leaves Bristol for the long journey home to Hastings.
