Orkney & Shetland Explorer with Railtrail Tours.
After a one night stay at the Highland Hotel in Stirling the group travelled on a HST to Aberdeen for an overnight voyage to Lerkwick Capital of Shetland.
A tour of Shetland included The Jarlshof settlement, Fort Charlotte, Shetland Pony, Shetland Jewry, the only forest on Shetland and Scalloway Musuem.
The tour of Orkney included Standing Stones of Stenness, the Ring of Brodgar, St Peter's Kirk, Skara Brae and the Italian Chapel.
The Old Man of Hoy was passed on the ferry back to the mainland, followed by a visit to John O'Groats. Back on the trains the group travelled from Inverness to Stirling on 170415 passing the Strathspey Steam Railway with Black 5 No. 5025 in steam.
On the final day the group visited Edinburgh for a tour of the Royal Mile.
