Trains at Derby Railway Station - Birthday Special - 05/06/19
The first half of the day within the early afternoon was very quiet and nothing special really came around, with the exception of the East Midlands Trains services, which were running Class 222s, Class 153s, Class 156s and their Class 125 HST set.
The afternoon eventually got better for us, as a small variety of things began to appear around the station, including two freight trains, with a DB Class 60 on one, and a Freightliner Class 66 on another one.
Then, the 125 HST NMT (New Measurement Train) came out of Derby RTC (Network Rail) on a test train bound for Kennet Bridge Loop. This brightened up the day just a bit, as well as the Class 60 on the steel freight.
The highlight of my birthday was the unexpected appearances of both a pair of Colas Rail Class 67s (67023 & 67027) on a test train from March to Derby, and a Network Rail Class 73 (73951) running light loco from Crewe to Derby.
These two unexpected surprises really topped off my 22nd birthday very nicely, and it made up for the quiet start of the early afternoon.
