Trains at Rugeley Trent Valley & Derby - 31st Oct / 1st Nov, 2022

On Monday 31st October, during a family weekend away to attend the 15th Anniversary of Scarefest at Alton Towers Resort, we took the time to film a couple of trains at Rugeley Trent Valley which was not far away from the Premier Inn that we were staying at. We've never been to this station before, but it seems to be a nice one to get some fast-moving electrics through it.
While the variety mainly contained London North-Western EMUs and Avanti West Coast Pendelino trains, there were two freight trains that ran through the station platform, one hauled by Freightliner 66603 and the other by Direct Rail Services 66432.
The next day at Derby on November 1st, we managed to catch the back end of a Reading Triangle to Derby RTC test train which was hauled by Colas Rail 37099, before the rest of the day was spent filming passenger units, which included three 2-car Class 156s put together going into Platform 7, one of the units even sporting former Northern Trains livery.
After a while, GBRf 66778 passed through Platform 4 with a maintenance freight train before the day eventually ended with BR-Blue 37418 trundling into Platform 3 on a light engine move from Derby RTC North Siding to Bescot Down Side.
All in all, as the winter weather makes a chilly return, there was plenty of activity for us to see at both Rugeley and Derby.
