Diesel Running Day at the Severn Valley Railway - Thursday 22nd May, 2025

We returned to visit the Severn Valley Railway to enjoy a day with the diesels, with 20048 and 50035 'Ark Royal' running trains from Kidderminster to Hampton Loade, which is just about as far as trains can currently go due to the landslip that happened near Bridgenorth earlier in January 2025.
20048 was running on the steam timetable due to the originally planned steam engine 7802 'Bradley Manor' needing more time to be ready to run on services in the future.
On the side-lines, D1015 'Western Champion' and 57003 were seen undertaking driver training runs along the railway, with the Class 57 even taking the former Great Western / Caledonia Sleeper Mark 3s for a loaded test run, and in the morning part at the start of the day, 09107 was seen dragging 20142 and 20189 to the mainline junction joining point in preparation for the Class 20s to run from Kidderminster S.V.R to Tyesley Steam Trust for a mainline working on the following day.
Overall, the day seemed to be like a mini-diesel gala for us, for we were unable to get to the Spring Diesel Gala due to having a very busy weekend, so going up to the railway on a normal running day with diesels running more than made up for it. All of the footage we filmed was done on our iPhones.
