Hello everyone, MT here with the usual trainspotting action! A long-awaited return to London Paddington Station, terminus of the Great Western mainline. It has been years since my last visit and yet I wasn’t really in the mood to going back there because it was all now just IET’s & 387’s considering they retired the HST’s long ago.
However, this tip was and acceptation considering this year was celebrating the HST’s 50th anniversary and 125 Group were rail tours along routes when they were first introduced in the 1970’s; and on this day was the first one called ‘The Journey Shrinker’ going from Paddington to Swansea via Bristol and back. So here is coming back in on its return leg, though I was hoping it would come in on platform 5 considering that what RealTimeTrains said; but it ended up going into platform 1 instead, slightly ruining my shot of it when there was other rail enthusiasts in the way but can’t be helped that.
Anyways, other than the HST, there was all the standard passenger services coming in and going out in between during the golden hour with the light of the sunset in the background. Feel free to check out both the film I did at King’s Cross earlier on that day and the one of St Pancras the next day with a much better look and shot of the HST which did the second rail tour. Hope you all enjoy this!
