On this day an early start was needed in order to capture on film The 'Toots Express' organised by BLS and UKRT, running from Alexandra Palace to Edinburgh.
Being double headed by Class 50 Locomotives 50049 and 50007. This caused a lot of interest with both enthusiasts and the general travelling public at the time. The rail tour was promoted in memory of Suzanne Collins.
Several Freightliner trains were seen at both locations during the day and accompanied by many of the Greater Anglia services and Cross Country trains.
