A Trip to the Isle of Wight to escape the Heatwave!

Seeing as I had stayed a night in Portsmouth after returning from the Channel Islands late on Sunday the 17th July I thought I'd spend a few hours on the Isle of Wight were it was about 10c cooler than in London.

We travel over on Hovercraft "Island Flyer", then take a ride on ex District Line D Train No. 484004 to Smallbrook Junction where we change to the Isle of Wight Steam Railway. On the Isle of Wight Steam Railway we enjoy a trip behind 41298 to Wootton and then back to Havenstreet where we visit the Train Story Museum which has many exhibits including some Island Line 1938 stock!
