Pannier & Pre-Grouping | East Lancashire Railway - Autumn Steam Gala - 16/10/26

Description
The East Lancashire Railway host a selection of visitors and home fleet steam locos to round off the main season, with this years Autumn Steam Gala taking on somewhat of a pre-grouping theme.
Kicking off the event was an opportunity to view visiting GWR Pannier Tank 7714 from the Severn Valley Railway running with a mixed freight set, with the train performing three run pasts at Burrs as a 'mini-photo charter', allowing photographers to capture several different angles of the loco in the morning light.
Additional visitors for the gala included LSWR S15 30506 from the Watercress Line, and SECR O1 Class No.65 from the Bluebell Railway. Both pre-grouping locomotives would complement the East Lancs home based pre-grouping engines, including Class 23 752 and Class 27 1300, with both engines would debuting fresh repaints into Lancashire & Yorkshire livery. Whilst S15 30506 currently carries her BR guise, she would see herself appropriately paired with home based Bulleid West Country 34092 'City of Wells'.
A fourth and final guest came in the form of Hudswell Clarke 0-6-0ST No.1208 'Illingworth'. The loco has carried several names in her lifetime, receiving the name 'Illingworth' in 1930. The event roster would be rounded of by yet one more pre-grouping loco, in the form of L&Y Pug 11243, still currently carrying her LMS guise.
