Double Class 37 Sets + Small Train Variety - Newport (South Wales) - 07/01/25
In Newport (South Wales), I went down there today with our 10 year old AA battery powered 2015 Nikon photo camera which acts as a substitute video camera for the time being until we can get a brand new HD handheld video camera in the future. This short movie acts as a test for the camera to see if its quality works out well, which despite being somewhat grainy in quality, worked well enough to my liking, so long as I start filming quick enough due to this camera having a slow start up time when recording.
I went to Newport to capture not one, but two Class 37 workings that were running on the same day, with ROG 37901 & 37218 moving an Ex-TFW Class 175 set, 175103, from Landore T.M.D to Ely Mlf Papworth Sdgs, while Colas Rail 37402 & 37057 top and tailed a test train working from Derby RTC to Cardiff Canton Sidings.
Capturing two sets of veteran tractors in South Wales is always a good thing to get on a good day, and what's more, if you double the tractors, you double the fun of filming them.
This is also the first video of the year that fully embraces the new 'S.T.C Rail Productions' banner, since we had changed the name of the channel in the middle of July 2024.
