Description
đźš‚ ELR AUTUMN STEAM GALA 2026 | I WAS NOT PREPARED FOR THIS MUCH STEAM!
I knew there would be plenty of steam at the East Lancashire Railway’s Autumn Steam Gala 2026… but I don’t think I quite appreciated just HOW MUCH! 💨
Armed with my camera and hoping to capture some fantastic footage of the locomotives in action, I quickly discovered that sometimes you can have a little too much of a good thing!
At times, the sheer amount of steam completely swallowed the locomotives, leaving me wondering whether I’d just ruined my shots or accidentally captured something rather spectacular!
But then again, isn’t that what makes steam railways so special? The sights, the sounds, the atmosphere and, of course, those enormous clouds of steam!
Join me for Day 1 of the ELR Autumn Steam Gala 2026 as I attempt to capture the action through all that steam.
Did I misjudge it completely, or did the steam actually make the footage even better? I’ll let you decide!
👇 Let me know in the comments — can you ever have TOO MUCH steam?
