Quick-Track: Trains at Cardiff and Newport (South Wales) - 15/01/25

In order to film trains like we always do together, we bought ourselves a new video camera from Argos, an AGFAPHOTO Realimove CC2700 Camcorder, to try out for our future railway videos. To test it out, we ventured out to the Cardiff City area to film some trains as part of our test. While the footage came out with a strange yellowish effect, it nevertheless played alright to our liking.

The trains we filmed in Cardiff were mainly passenger services, with both an empty metals freight train with DBC 66105, and the New Measurement Train HST set (43303 & 43251) that was running a test train from Landore to Derby.

In Newport (South Wales), we captured the rare visit of a DRS Class 88 (88008) running on electric power through the station whilst working on a driver route learner from Gloucester to Pengam Sidings to Rugby. This shot wasn't easy to film because of how low the winter sun was positioned.

Finally, DRS 66433 passes through Newport a few minutes later on the Tesco Express from Daventry to Wentloog.

The AGFAPHOTO Realimove CC2700 will be a temporary placeholder camera to film our train videos with until we can get another one in the future.
