Today at the Avon Valley Railway, GWR Class 14xx 1450 visiting from the Severn Valley Railway is seen taking the visiting GWR Autocoach from the Bodmin Railway on a short journey from Bitton to Oldland Common. The tank engine and Autocoach were running as part of the 'End of Season Gala' event to mark the end of 50 Years of the Avon Valley Railway. (1974-2024)
The video was filmed from the window of the Autocoach, which provides an atmospheric experience with plenty of coal soot splattering all over the camera, as well as a close shave with an over-hanging branch. I made sure to keep my head inside of the carriage itself to keep myself from getting soot in my eye or getting hit by the branch.
