Excellent Variety in Atrocious Weather at Carlisle, Crewe, Milton Keynes and Wolverton 20 Oct 2026

On Tuesday 20 October I travelled with Paul to Wolverton. We had intended to head for Scotland but a lack of interesting trains and the forecast wet weather changed our minds and south it was. Our first call was Crewe to change trains. Time to see an EPR Class 60 running around its wagons. Then via Milton Keynes Central to Wolverton. The reverse curves at either end of the station here add to the visual interest. Plenty of freight as well as passenger workings at speed!
Then back to Milton Keynes Central for more passenger and freights at speed and stopping. Two highlights for me - a Chiltern Class 196 from Oxford on that 'ghost service' on the 'East West link' and a train of Cargowagons rushing to Dollands Moor and the Channel Tunnel.
Back at Carlisle a couple of the nighttime Up intermodals were recorded.
