Having seen the debut inbound run of the Britannic Explorer on Friday evening arriving at the West Somerset Railwayhttps://youtu.be/I1XcUKLQv1A we pick up the action on Saturday where the luxury sleeper is seen at Bishops Lydeard, while Hymek DEPG D7017 looking resplendent in her new livery, gets the WSR Hymek Anniversary gala underway!

34046 Braunton is seen coming off shed, ready to meet the English Riviera Express, before 66744 ‘Heart of Wales’ and 66748 ‘St Michael’s Mount leave Bishops Lydeard, and pass Norton Fitzwarrwn on their way to Cornwall.

We see the locomotive swap at 40 Steps for the LSL Saphos English Riviera Express as 57002 ‘Winston Churchill’ comes off and stables at Taunton Sidings, and 34046 ‘Braunton’ joins the train before powering past Norton Fitzwarren, with 47593 ‘Galloway Princess’ bringing up the rear. 66124 is also seen hurrying past with the China Clay empties heading for Goonbarrow.

Later on in the day, and the weather had taken a turn for the worse as forecasted, but that didn’t deter as we head to Paignton to capture both 34046 ‘Braunton’ and 47593 ‘Galloway Princess’ with the return English Riviera Express to Bedford, and the debut of 37703 ‘Vulcan’ looking magnificent in its freshly applied Railfreight Coal Sector livery, working evening services in conjunction with this years Dartmouth Regatta, bringing to a close a great day of action!
