Blaenavon Railway: 10 Years Later (2010 - 2020) - 3717 'City of Truro' & No. 18 'Jessie'
On Saturday 18th September, 2010, the world famous steam locomotive 3717 'City of Truro' visited the Blaenavon Railway, where the weekend event had the grand opening of the extension down to Blaenavon High Level, joined by the GWR Autocoach, Bagnall Tank No. 19 'HM Dockyard Devonport' and Austerity Tank RSH 'Mech Navvies' 71515.
On Saturday 19th September, 2020, ten years later, Hunslet Works Saddle Tank No 18 'Jessie' is seen approaching Furnace Sidings with the first train of the day during the September running events, where social distancing measures and booked compartments were being used by the railway, due to the ongoing Covid-19 Pandemic.
The 'City of Truro' footage was filmed on our old FlipCam video camera, while the 'Jessie' footage was filmed from our Sony HD Camera.
Comparing the two videos together and their differences in quality and sound, our filming has improved immensely and the railway itself has undergone many changes within the 10 years we have been going up there.
