Highlights from the 2026 Taunton Model Railway Exhibition + 66748 & 66760 on the Britannic Explorer!

Quite nice to have an indoor event today as Storm Boelo took hold around the UK, with a brilliant morning spent at the 2026 Taunton model railway show, admiring some of the fantastic exhibits on display in various gauges.

While waiting for Taunton School to open we catch the Britannic Explorer preparing to depart with 66748 'St Michael's Mount' running round 66760 'David Gordon Harris' before the pair headed into the gloom and we dry off wandering around the various hall admiring the level of detail the modellers go to which was really astounding, and explore the various layouts on display this year. The sales stands by were also full of great stock and a credit to the patience it takes to get the end results, lots of variation from vintage steam themes to modern traction, continental and much more! | 24.10.2026
