In the Welsh Marches today, two joint-together Class 197s (197019 + 197020) are seen stopping and then leaving Pontypool & New Inn on a late running passenger service heading from Holyhead to Cardiff Central.

10 minutes later, the Blue Pullman HST set passes through Pontypool on the 'English Riviera Pullman' railtour heading from Ulverston to Paignton. The tour managed to get through the station just before the heavy rain came down.
