On a grey and gloomy morning, two trains pass through Pontypool & New Inn on Friday 13th October, 2017.

First, the Belmond Northern Belle is seen passing through Pontypool & New Inn, with top and tail Class 57s (57312 & 57301) on the railtour, heading from Swansea to Shrewsbury. The tour will then later return to Swansea this evening, via Kidderminster, Gloucester and Chepstow.

The dedicated Northern Belle liveried Class 57 was leading the train, while the DRS liveried Class 57 was on the back of the train.

A few minutes later, the Chirk to Baglan Bay empties head through New Inn, with a Colas Rail Class 70 (70803) leading the empties having taken the logs from Baglan Bay to Chirk just yesterday.
