Two Steam Specials at Pontypool & New Inn - Saturday 20th July, 2019
BR Standard Class 7 70000 'Britannia' was on the 'Welsh Marches Express' heading from Crewe to Cardiff Central, with LSL Class 47 (D1944) 'Craftsman' seen on the back of the tour.
A couple of minutes later, the two steam engines passed each other near Panteg, before LMS Jubilee Class 45596 'Bahamas' was next seen passing through New Inn, on the 'Welsh Marches' railtour from Dorridge to Hereford.
Unexpectedly though on the back of the second train, a London Transport livered Class 20 (20142) was seen at the rear, and I was very surprised to see a Class 20 in the South Wales area.
Due to turning the camera around at the very last second, I've had to hastily edit out the back end of the train, because my tri-pod was close to the sign on the platform. Despite the hasty editing, it's not the worst thing to happen to me on the railways. I still got the Class 20 nevertheless, as it takes careful editing to fix up a mistake.
