LSL Class 47s in Foggy Marches with 'The Britannia Express' - Panteg - 30/03/19
D1944 & D1924 (47501 & 47810) were the locomotives top and tailing the train, where a steam engine will then take over for the journey from Crewe to York, before reverting back to diesel power from York to Sunderland.
The weather conditions in the Welsh Marches were very foggy indeed, as we couldn't even see the road bridge in the distance. But it did give us an advantage to film two BR-Green Class 47s coming out of the fog with a bit of first generation power on it.
Filmed by Thomas Coombes, on Saturday 30th March, 2019.
The tour will be returning from Sunderland to Swansea tomorrow afternoon, on Sunday 31st March, 2019.
