On a chilly but sunny morning on Wednesday 27th March, 2019, a redundant EMU unit is seen passing through Pontypool & New Inn, with Ex-Northern Belle 57312 taking it from Shields T.M.D (E) to Newport Docks (Simsgroup), with the EMU intended for scrapping.

We couldn't do very much about the sun shining on the camera lens, due to it being in a rather awkward position in the early morning sky.

A minute later after seeing the EMU scrap train, a Transport for Wales Class 158 unit (158831) then arrived into Pontypool, with a passenger service heading from Cardiff Central to Holyhead. As the train leaves the station, one unlucky passenger arrives seconds too late to climb aboard.
