January 2026 has certainly provided us with plenty of first generation traction in just under two weeks alone, with today once again bringing us another first generation working in the South Wales area.
A West Coast Class 47, 47832, is seen taking four WCRC Mark 1 carriages from Totnes to Carnforth Steamtown.
They were originally planned to be returned to Carnforth last Wednesday in the company of three Ex-GWR HST cabs, but a points failure at Totnes prevented this from happening. A week later once the points were fixed, 47832 collected the four Mk1s and headed through Panteg on its way home to Carnforth.
